University of Twente Scholarships (UTS) are awarded to outstanding applicants from both EU/EEA and non-EU/EEA countries for the University of Twente Scholarships graduate program (MSc).

Scholarship value/duration

The scholarship is worth between €3,000 and €22,000 for a year. In a two-year program, students who fulfill the UTS process requirements can get an additional UTS equal to the amount they received in the first year.

University of Twente Scholarships Eligibility

Applicants must fulfill each of the requirements stated below in order to be eligible for a University of Twente Scholarships:

  • Applying for a University of Twente scholarship is not the same as applying for a course entry scholarship. Regardless of funding, you need to first get an entrance letter.
  • You have been (provisionally) accepted into one of the approved UT Master programs as of September of the 2025 academic year. Please be advised that it may take up to eight weeks after submitting your application for you to obtain the results.
  • You need a student number.
  • Utah.You didn’t finish UT’s graduate program;

Application requirements

To qualify for a scholarship from the University of Twente, you must fulfill each of the requirements listed below.

  • Applying for a UT scholarship is a different process from applying to the University of Twente for a course. You must first obtain an academic admission letter regardless of funding.
  • One of the qualifying UT Master programs has accepted you (provisionally) for the September 2025–2026 academic year. Please be aware that it could take up to eight weeks after submitting your application for results.
  • You need to have a student ID.
    You have not completed an undergraduate or graduate study at UT;
    You meet the requirements to enter the Netherlands with a visa (if applicable);
  • Outstanding students are eligible to apply for the University Twente Scholarship. This usually indicates that you are among the top 5–10% of your class.

How to apply for University of Twente Scholarships

The first step is to apply for a Master’s program. You can use your student number to apply for the scholarship after submitting an application for a Master’s program and receiving a (conditional) admission letter. Dutch and/or existing UT students cannot access UTS. Students from the EU and EEA are not eligible to take the UTS. The Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) does not offer the UTS for Master’s programs. The pre-master program does not have access to the UTS.

Application deadlines & details

Deadline to apply for round 1:

The application will open on October 15, 2024, at 9:00 CET.
Applications for programs beginning in September 2025 must be submitted by February 1, 2025, at 16.00 CET.

Deadline to apply for round two:

The application form begins at 16.00 CET on February 1, 2025.
The application deadline for programs beginning in September 2025 is May 1, 2025, at 16.00 CET.
An application in round two is not considered if your application in round one was denied. Only one UT scholarship may be given to you.
