One of the world’s oldest and most prominent international scholarship programs is the Eligibility Criteria Rhodes Scholarship at Oxford University. Cecil Rhodes, a British politician and businessman who felt that the University of Oxford in England should teach the next generation of international leaders, had it founded in 1902.

Benefits of the Rhodes Scholarship at Oxford University

Oxford University course expenses and an annual stipend are covered by the Rhodes Scholarship. Scholars use their £18,180 annual stipend (£1,515 monthly) to cover all living costs, including housing.

The Rhodes Trust will reimburse the University of Oxford for the application cost after the scholarship recipient is chosen. The International Health Surcharge (IHS), which enables foreign students to use the UK’s National Health Service, and the student visa price will both be covered by the Trust. Two economy-class flights to and from the UK at the beginning and conclusion of their study at Oxford will be covered by the Rhodes Trust.

Scholars who enroll in a second course of study at Oxford will receive financial aid to cover the cost of renewing their visas and submitting additional IHS applications, in addition to the settling-in stipend they receive upon arrival.

Duration

Subject to satisfactory academic performance and personal conduct, the scholarship has a basic period of two years. In some circumstances, scholars may seek for a third year of scholarship to finish the DPhil, at the discretion of the Rhodes Trustees and the Academic Committee of the Rhodes Trust.

Education: Have you received or plan to get an undergraduate degree from a nearby institution, or have you completed an Intermediate, A-level, or similar school or college leaving exam at a school or college in your country?
By July 2024, will you have obtained an undergraduate degree (often a bachelor’s degree) with a record of accomplishment and grade that meets or exceeds the precise prerequisites for admission to the full-time program you have selected at the University of Oxford?

Age: You must be between the ages of 18 and 23 on October 1, 2024, if you were born between October 1, 2000, and October 2, 2006. You must have been born after October 1, 1997, be younger than 27 on October 1, 2024, and have completed your first undergraduate degree on or after October 1, 2023,* unless you are an elderly candidate who took longer than usual to get their first college degree.
